​MISSION AND HISTORY


The West Toronto Photography Group is a not for profit arts group created in 2011 to help artists access photography and digital arts studio spaces, workshops and to help the general community through arts and fundraising .
​
2020-2021 has been a year of great change in the programming we offer at the West Toronto Photography group, We have partnered with STart program in Toronto on a few fun projects adding art and photography to the CafeTO program and the BikeTO bicycle barriers throughout the city.

We have started a community Good Food Market in Weston to help our community this summer as well

If you enjoy photography and are looking to shoot in studio and on location and share your enthusiasm with our community of artists of all levels . We offer our workshops at our cost to allow everyone to participate in our events, our professional instructors are sharing their time and expertise to help inspire and contribute back to the community . We hire local and international talent to work with our group (models and MUA / hair stylists)

Photographer
Phil Sutherland is the founder and director of WTPG and has been organizing lighting workshops and photography workshops in the GTA for 15 years.
He is the owner of Revprint Studio 205 (www.revprint.com) - Toronto's premier facilitated rental Photography studio and a professional commercial photographer for 25 years.
A self described lighting nut , he has produced public light Art for the Amsterdam Light Festival and teaches photography internationally.
Leah den Bok is best known for her book series, Nowhere to Call Home--Photographs and Stories of People Experiencing Homelessness, for which she has won international recognition. Her work has been acclaimed by BBC, Toronto Star, CBC, as well as newspapers in the United States, Italy, and the Netherlands. Leah is going to be presenting some photography talks and lighting workshops in 2023 when she is in Canada. Leah lives and works in Spain currently and we look forward to her upcoming events in Canada

Reanna Niceforo is an accomplished international artist having done public art pieces in the Amsterdam Festival of Light and Nuit Blanc in Toronto and she is our awesome Director of operations for WTPG.
