This is going to be a fun and informative introduction to Portrait lighting created to help you develop your skills and confidence and introduce concepts of general Portrait lighting. If you want to learn about Portrait lighting , equipment and tools used in studio .

WHY TAKE THIS CLASS?

If portrait photography lighting is your passion and you want to upgrade your portrait and studio lighting skills

You will be substantially informed from this well paced 1.5 hour group workshop and we are limiting the workshop size to only 6 people to allow more time for questions and learning.

1-This workshop will spend the 1 and a half hours going through a detailed run down of equipment names and introduce thier uses

2- We will discuss the design of our studio space and take time to introduce different tools used to create portraits in studio

3-Types of modifiers and discuss how they light subjects, we will show the difference between hard and diffused lighting

4-Discuss the elements of planning a shoot and possible team members to make the shoot run successfully

5- We will set up and shoot a portrait using the elements and tools we have covered through out the discussion and everyone will get a chance to shoot this set up during the presentation.

Who/what is this workshop for?

This workshop is suitable for all skill levels of photographer looking to start shooting on thier own in studio and become familiar with the equipment and elements of shooting Portraits in studio.  We will be showing hands on lighting techniques and giving everyone time to shoot a set up and we will spend time discussing the set ups and the light modifiers we are using to shape the light.

Time is money, and we want everyone to get the most of their experience! That’s why we hold efficient classes with professional instructors to allow for short, information packed sessions that maximize the shooting time for each participant.

What we offer from our workshops to our members • A safe and comfortable, yet professional environment for everyone to gather, network, and of course, to take photos! • An array of light modifiers such as; reflectors, umbrellas, soft-boxes, grids, snoots, and beauty dishes. • Multiple, quick, one-on-one sessions with the model(s) to optimize your chances of getting that “perfect” shot- No turkey shoots!

“What should I bring to the session?!”

First thing’s first; you need your camera! Any model DSLR camera with a working hot-shoe is perfect! *Fresh batteries! (No one loves a dead battery, YIKES!) Formatted memory cards to ensure you can take as many lovely photos as possible! Your favourite lens; anything from 10mm-200mm will work just fine! Don’t forget to bring your passion for great photography and a thirst for knowledge! We will bring the fun! (WOO HOO!)

Who should take our sessions?

Our sessions are perfect for photographers who have a very basic knowledge of their camera and its manual settings (don't worry -we will give you the F-stop and shutter speed for perfect results!). They are also suitable for any level of photographer looking to dive into different styles of photography, learn some great lighting set ups, and have some FUN!
